WordPlay Connects – Smithsonian Bus Trip

WordPlay Connects, the nonprofit arm of WordPlay bookstore in Wardensville, has received funding to take a group of 50 local West Virginia residents to Washington, DC, to visit the Smithsonian’s American History Museum and the Museum of African American History and Culture Museum. The funding will cover charter bus transportation to and from DC, $35 per person for food, and a curated bundle of Smithsonian-themed books for each household.

Trip details:

• Scheduled for Saturday, October 17, departing at 8AM from East Hardy Elementary School in Baker and returning at 8PM.
• Recommended for ages 8 and up. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
• Limited to 50 participants, with priority given to families with school-aged children.
• Requirements if selected for trip – sign liability waiver, attend one virtual planning session, visit both museums on October 17, and complete a survey after the trip.

Space is limited, and interested individuals should complete the application as soon as possible. Application forms are mandatory and must be received by August 17. Registration will be confirmed by August 31.
